According to a joint report by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), 37% of women in Nigeria rely on unhygienic menstrual management methods, such as reusable cloths and paper, while 67% use hygienic options.
The WHO-UNICEF report highlights disposable pads, reusable cloths, and paper as the most commonly used menstrual materials among Nigerian women. However, access and usage differ sharply across geographic and socio-economic lines.
